I roomed with a girl in college. She was on a five year program, so I left a year early. The year was forever, days and days of crying. Trips back to school. Spring break for two. I certainly didn't expect missing her, and neither did she. We sat down, agreed that as soon as she graduated we would be back together.
A party for a new friend, I met her brother, he took advantage of me. I was scared of telling her. She suspected, my behavior. I apologized, but her heart was broken, she wanted space and all that. I felt bad, it wasn't my idea, and I literally didn't feel responsible. But she was hurt, and I couldn't comfort her.
Lesson learned, I was not free, I was taken. I drove up the next weekend, insisted on sleeping with her, did a lot of comforting, until things got intimately uncomfortable. We had to talk, we talked, she wanted more comforting. It was that weekend when you say things you don't remember, like I Love You, I Can't Stand Being Away From You, I Want To Comfort You.
That weekend we decided to get married as soon as she graduated. We made it until the following Thursday. Eloped before letting our parents know we were those kind of girls.
So, I confess, I didn't know I was that kind of girl. But I am, and she is too, and 'comforting' her really feels good.
