Older guys dating teenage girls was pretty common abd accepted in most of the world throughout human history. In some places, it still is. But the attitude and context around it has sure differed. When I was in Croatia, from late 90s to early 2000s, I noticed that many guys who dated young(er) girls would call them "Lolita" or "my sweet Lolita" as a petname. Girls would gush about it and think it's cute. I still remember their bright smiles. Usually it was like that with 20 to 24-year-old guys dating 15 or 16-year-old girls. But sometimes even with 30-year-olds dating 18 and 19-year-olds. Funnily enough, it didn't seem to be some kinky or perveted meaning behind it, or at least it didn't seem like it. They just used it as a sweet name for girls who dated older guys. It really seemed that none of them actually knew what Nabokov's "Lolita" was really about. Or they just ignored it and made up their own meaning. It also wasn't rare to see graffittis reading (translation) "I love you Lolita" or something like that. I even know a Croatian woman who named her daughter Lolita, because she thought it was a beautiful name. I wonder if the girl goes by Lili now. In the US, "Lolita" has been widely regarded, pretty much since the publication, as a disturbing novel about grooming and abuse, like the author intended. Sure, many people still fetishize it or romanticize it, but even then it is done in a dark, kinky kind of way. It is interesting how, in at least one country across the world, many women associate that name with sweet memories of young love.
